to me this morning. I woke up at 5am without an alarm. And you know what? I had to fight the urge to go run. Isn't that cool? Only two days into my exercise program and I had to fight that urge. I literally had to tell myself that I'd just run the evening before and I needed to wait until tonight to run. I'm stoked! Come on! Exercise with me. You'll be surprised at how quickly you can become addicted to it (or maybe I just have an addictive personality). Awww, what the heck, it's worth a try! I bet you've been talked into other things that were far less good for you. Let me talk you into this, PLEASE! You won't regret it.
OK - so after I talked myself into waiting to run until tonight, I called my husband who's away doing business. He was ticked. I mean totally ticked. Guess what he did? He left town without his running shoes
AND his Nike+ chip. That's bad, REALLY bad when you are into a routine. The thought of having to go all week without his shoes was really causing him some serious anguish. After how I felt this morning, I completely understood the problem.
My first inclination was to mail them to him... Problem? United States Postal Service closed in remembrance of President Ford. So, I begged him to go buy a new pair. He thought that would be foolish. I offered to drive them to him... he thought that would be nice, but downright stupid. Sheesh!
Well, about 3pm I saw a UPS truck pass the school - Yep! Good ole' brown at work today. Yeah, you so know what I did. I asked to leave school early and I went straight to the UPS office and overnighted his shoes. He's back in business - they'll be there by 4:30pm tomorrow. You know what he said (in between thank you's)? He said, "4:30? What if I wanted to run at lunch?" Yeah, I laughed too! He hasn't run at lunch as long as I've known him.
Well, he's got to take tonight off, but he's ok with that. "Super wife" prevails! Ha! Just kidding about the super wife stuff. I just happened to come through with a good one every now and then.
So, today's been a good day! After about 9pm I'll call it a great day (cuz by that time I will have had some good scrapping time with my kids... and a good 2 mile run)!
Hope your evening is as good as mine!

Yes my dear, you ARE Superwife. No other wife in the history of mankind has ever treated their husband with such adoration and respect. I tell you every day that you are beautiful. I tell you every day that you are the best. I do believe that it is finally sinking in! As much as I do to lead our family, it is you that sets the bar to new heights. I love you dearly and just wanted the whole blogging world to know. XOXO N
Aubrey--your hubby is a gem!!! And a romantic one at that!! What a lucky couple you two are!
