It just keeps getting better...

and better! Well, my baby got her first taste of high school ball this weekend. I don't know if it was more fun for her... or for her parents! The season hasn't started and teams haven't been picked, but she and some of the other girls got together (with coaching help from the dads) and played in a high school warm-up tournament. She and her friends (pictured here) are all Freshman hoping to play on the varsity squad... and after they went 4-1 on the weekend without the help of the upperclassmen (who were all busy), I've got a strong suspicion that these 4 will get to play together for the next four years.
My Taylor pitched well and racked up several nice hits (including a triple and a 3-run home run). Without the seniors there, they were short one player, so Mo got to fill the spot. It'll be 2 more years until she gets to play high school ball, but she really helped the squad build up some substantial leads. Also hitting well on the weekend, Mo helped most with a monstrous Grand Slam (and turned a few heads...). Of course, coach couldn't be there because it's against UIL rules, but I'm sure she's probably heard how well they did. If she doesn't hear before next Thursday, she'll surely know when the girls picture (all nine of them) land on the sports page of the local paper. Oh yeah, cuz you know we took a picture!

I wish I was closer so I could watch them. I had a blast when Brandy and I went to WF.
