Well, today most certainly is NOT...

January 1st. That is the day that I was supposed to have all this free time to work on my blog. Well, it didn't happen now did it? Dang it! You know how sometimes a mood hits you and no matter what else around you should get done, you can't do it until you satisfy that mood? Like maybe chocolate? or ice cream? come on, you know that feeling of "I've GOT to have this or I can't function any longer"???
That happened to me this week, but it wasn't food or anything that my body needed. It was a "brain" thing. My emotional well being had something that needed to be done or nothing else productive was going to happen. Period.
Since we moved into our new home in August (and I started my new job 6 days later), we've not had time to REALLY get settled. Throw softball tournaments nearly every weekend into the mix and we never had the chance to catch a breath. Oh we had all the boxes unpacked and things put away (praise God I have such a motivated mother and father) so that the house appeared to be organized.
Add to that the stress from owning two homes at the same time, two mortgages, two electric bills, etc, etc... and I was so stressed out that even when I did have time to reorganize, I was so depressed that I spun my wheels and things didn't get accomplished. But, the house in Bryan sold right before Thanksgiving and we have the Christmas and holiday hoopla behind us, and so I had a mission. Let's just say, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
You know how you pack things for a move that you really don't think you need to keep, but you don't want to throw them away on a whim? Well, this week brought 3+ pickup beds full of JUNK that we really didn't need (or want) to keep. And the sad thing? This was stuff that no one else would want either, so a garage sale was out of the question. Guess what? We even threw away a box that wasn't unpacked. I opened it, looked in it, saw the mess of last minute stuff that we'd crammed in there as we were moving out and groaned. The girls and I looked at each other as I closed the box (didn't even look throught it) and they took it to the bed of the truck. Ha! It felt good!!!!
Anyway, the house is 95% organized. The laundry room still needs attention, but school starts back up in two days, I have lesson plans to write and scrapping that absolutely HAS to get done. So, Spring Break will surely bring more organizing and that makes me happy! Until then, my mind is clear and I'm not stressed about it!

Glad you got that done. I am on the opposite end of that. I need to start packing now so that I don't feel stressed at the last minute when it is time to move at the end of May!
