If you've been stopping by my blog for the last two weeks, I apologize for the lack of posts. I got more wrapped up in the holiday spirit this year than ever before and blogging just didn't happen.
But scrapping did. I've done a TON of scrapping!
It's not often that I do a really quick, simple layout. I have a hard time with "white space"... it rarely ever stays "white" (or green, or brown). I like to fill a page. I'll often start a layout thinking, "this time I'm going to leave some empty space", and before I know it, all the empty space is full. "White space" looks so good when everyone else does it, but when I try it, the layout just doesn't feel complete. So, last week I managed to do a simple layout, with more than my typical amount of empty space.

Here it is! Don't faint or anything, and don't expect to see it again too soon. I really like the layout... but I don't see myself adapting my style to reflect this trend.
OK - that's it for layouts in the last two weeks. Yes, I DID say that I'd been doing some hefty scrapping... just not in the way of layouts. I've really been in the mood to do mini chipboard books - Thanks Maya Road for having so many AWESOME choices!! I altered my first 5 ring tabbed book. WOW! I can tell you that this little book is such fun to work with that I'll be altering many more of them in the future.
I haven't taken pictures of the whole thing, so for now, I'll just post a sneaky-peeky at the front and back cover.
Can't wait to share the story with you. It's a really good one about my husband, my girls and a coconut.
Be sure to check http://mayaroaddesignteam.blogspot.com/ to see what else I've been doing. Our January projects should be posted by January 15th. Have a HAPPY NEW YEAR! (and check back this week if you're interested in seeing the rest of this book)
