Room to breathe...

Do you ever have those 2 or 3 weeks that you think, "if I can just make it through this time period, I'll have some room to breathe?"

Well, that's been my last two weeks. Thank goodness they're over! I won't bore you to death with the details, but between school commitments, family commitments and scrapping commitments, I just about drove myself into the ground. I don't quite know how it happened that things piled up on me like they did, but I'll try hard in the future not to let that happen.

Now I actually have some breathing room and it feels sooooo good. Now I have some time to relax and it too feels gooooood.

When I'm stressed, I need a creative release... and that release for the last two weeks has been working on some new projects with all my Maya Road goodies.

The first one is a layout of my oldest. The picture is the first pic I took of her when she got her braces taken off. The picture was sooooo bad that I had to alter the heck out of it to be satisfied with it. And I LOVE how it turned out. The layout uses LOTS of Maya Road new blossom chipboards. They are AWESOME! I love how thin the chipboard is... perfect for stacking. The layout is also sprinkled with many other MR products.
Our challenge this month was to use the mega bottlecaps in a new way. I chose to make a snowman with some of mine. I filled each bottlecap with Crayola Model Magic Clay (it's easy to work with and dries quickly... it's light and airy too, so it doesn't add much weight to your projects). The eyes and mouth are brads that are just pushed in. Of course, the hearts, flower and ribbon are all MR. I twisted copper jewelry wire for his arms. Then I altered a frame for his "home". The tree is my own design... cut from a heavy piece of chipboard. Now the problem... it doesn't snow in East Texas... no picture to put in it. Oh well, maybe we'll get snow this year (ha! it's 75 degrees outside right now) - or we'll take the kids snowing. If not, I'll just have to add a winter poem and call it good.
I'll be adding more stuff this weekend, so be sure and check back! In the meantime, have fun doing the last minute stuff for Christmas.
