sorry. It's been a lengthy month for our family. This is the story of my life (in a nutshell).
We are still trying to sell our house (though it looks like we might be getting an offer soon). Until then our family is still divided. Half of us are here... half in Lockhart. We meet on the weekends and change kids and every once in awhile we stay in a hotel so that we can all be together.
The land we were trying to buy fell through. It had a small mobile home on it that we were going to live in while we build a home... the bank said, "no financing mobile homes" - an outside lender wanted a ridiculous interest rate... and I said, "*&%! NO"! We're not going to pay an inflated interest rate on a mobile home that we don't plan on living in for very long... even if we LOVE the piece of property it's on. And, the seller doesn't want to sell the land separately. Bummer.
So - we're back to square one. No place to live in Lockhart. We've spent the last week looking for the perfect spot. We've decided to go ahead and buy a house in town and go from there. The house we're hoping to get was built in 1932, and has been wonderfully restored. It's on a 1/2 acre right in the middle of town. If we get it, you'll always be able to find us... it's the only house in town with an aqua blue roof. I'll let you know if we get it. This morning I've been at our insurance office trying to find out what it would take to insure it, etc. More leg work for me, that's for sure.
I'm trying to get ready for CHA Summer. I'm blessed to be going for my first time with Maya Road. WHOOP! Caroline and Deb tell me they're going to work my butt off... but I don't care. I think it'll be exciting!!! a little hard work never hurt anyone. I'll let you know more about it as it gets closer. I've already seen some of the new Maya Road releases and, WOW! You're gonna LOVE what they have in store.
Well, I'm off to check with the bank about the ins and outs of financing a home that is 75 years old...
and the saga continues.

Praying that everything will gently fall into place for you guys! God knows exactly where He wants you... but don't you just get impatient with Him when His timing is not so in line with our own!? You'll have to give us updates as to what all you will be doing at CHA too... lucky you!!!

Unbelievable you couldn't get reasonable financing for that land because of a mobile home that probably has a zero value anyways.
I hope things get finalized for you soon. CHA will be a blast but I am sure hard work at the same time!
Glad you finally posted Aubrey! And, like I said before, it will all work out the way it is supposed to!
