and yes, it goes along with this mini album, of course.Rewind about 17 years (I can't believe that I can talk about that long ago)... these are OLD pictures.
My ex-husband and I were still married. We had cattle. One day we went to the pasture to feed them and we came upon a heifer that was down and trying to give birth. She and the calf were hip-locked. The baby was stuck halfway out.
From the looks of it, they'd been that way awhile. In order to save the momma cow, we had to get some chains... attach them to the truck and wrap them around the calf's front legs and pull the calf out.

When we got them separated, the momma cow couldn't get up. Neither could the baby. My ex-husband said he thought the momma probably had temporary paralysis, but the baby wasn't going to make it. It couldn't move its back legs. Well, I wouldn't let him "put it down" so we took it up to the pen. The momma cow got up on its own after 2 days.
For 3 weeks, I went out there twice a day. I bottle fed it, talked to it and rubber its back legs. At just a little over 3 weeks, that baby got up and walked. I saved a calf's life. It is one of my favorite memories of having cattle.
Yes, that's me. Tan and young. And that's my calf. She grew up healthy and had calves of her own.
This mini album holds my memories of a pretty special moment in my life. The pictures aren't great, but they're the best I have... TFL!

Wow, what a great story! I love what I can see of the album, glad to see you using some stash of older papers and stuff too. Those flowers DO look like tooled leather, I'll have to give that a try.
